WELCOME TO ORANGE AWARE
A SIMPLE IDEA TO HELP PROTECT OUR MOST VULNERABLE
For most of us, COVID-19 is an unpleasant illness but one from which we will recover if we contract it.
However, for others the threat is far greater. The data shows that the elderly, people with low immunity and the immuno-compromised of all ages are at special risk of experiencing very serious symptoms and in the worst cases, dying.
Until there is a vaccination for COVID, we need to focus on protecting those most at risk.
Our idea is simple – people who are most likely to contract or be at most risk to the effects of COVID, should wear something Orange, to remind the general public to respect social distancing measures.
So, if you are a doctor, nurse, carer and work with those who are more at risk to Covid - Wear Orange!
If you are a frontline retail worker, who comes into contact with a lot of people everyday – Wear Orange!
If you are elderly, have low immunity, pre-existing health conditions like asthma, diabetes, COPD, heart, kidney or lung disease or you are scheduled for surgery soon - Wear Orange!
If you live with someone who is especially at risk - Wear Orange!
Wearing Orange will remind everyone to remain alert, respect the social their distancing guidelines and work together to save lives.
BECOME ORANGE AWARE
Be sure to keep your eyes open for people wearing Orange.
If you are at higher risk of contracting or at most risk to the effects of COVID. If you are a frontline worker, have low immunity, are immuno-compromised, if you are elderly and feel at more risk, if you care for or work with anyone who is at special risk to COVID – please wear Orange as a gentle reminder to let everyone around you know to take extra care and keep their distancing.
BE ORANGE AWARE
- Let’s keep our distance - always stand at least 1.5m away
- Give an extra seat where possible, on public transport
- Allow people wearing orange to take the lift or staircase alone or in two's
- Step aside in narrow passages and walkways
- Be extra careful indoors and in confined and busy areas
Remember COVID symptoms are often hidden or mild - if you care for others or come into contact with many others, you are at more risk of contracting COVID - so make sure to wear Orange. If you're more vulnerable to COVID also wear Orange, so everyone can take that extra care to keep their distancing.
